On April 23rd of this year, my dear friend Tracey, who is a Type I diabetic went into the hospital with COVID-19. They discovered her diabetes when she was three years old and she is now fifty-nine. She has had a kidney transplant, numerous heart attacks and multiple health issues. Tracey is still recovering and has made a few trips back to the hospital for additional care. It just so happened that she needed a procedure and was going to be spending her 37th wedding anniversary in the hospital. BUT... she is here! And despite all of that, still feeling the aftermath of the storm she went through, she has found a way to endure. Thank the Good Lord for giving her the strength through it all.
While watching she and her husband...the true nature of the love they have for each other is priceless....no fancy dinner needed... just the two of them...together. Her husband has always been by her side. He has cared for her and gives of himself wholeheartedly. I know that having her here on their anniversary was the best gift he could ask for.
When she was intubated and, on the ventilator, she was non-responsive and due to her having contracted COVID-19, her husband and son could not be with her. Thanks to the nurses and staff they were able to have a zoom call with her just about every night. They would just talk to her or sit in silence in her presence. And still even without her knowledge, her husband was there loving her the best way he could.
So with all of that...the story doesn’t end. The family stands on Faith, Love and Endurance. Tracey has done so much for so many people and her heart is so giving, loving and caring for any and all who cross her path.
Recently, her doctor told her that it wouldn’t be long before she would have to have her feet amputated due to a lack of circulation that has caused severe nerve damage. A possible solution to this issue would be the purchase of a Safe Step walk-in tub. She can no longer take a bath or a shower without the help of a visiting nurse. This tub would provide micro-soothing air therapy which will develop oxygen enriched bubbles. This process will circulate the blood flow to her feet. The end result would be a medical benefit for her entire body. She has been told that her insurance will not cover the cost of this medical equipment.
I have never used GoFundMe before. I cannot think of a more worthy cause than to help my friend Tracey obtain this medical necessity. This truly would be a miracle. If you feel in your heart to donate any amount of money for my dearest friend's medical device, I know that God will bless you for your generous kindness. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
