God Is Like Jesus - final book production

As I have mentioned for the past couple of years, I have been turning all of my Facebook writings into a book. As someone who was raised in evangelical Christianity and taught the traditional belief of a violent God who sent Jesus to take the cruel punishment we deserved and if we did not accept this transaction we would spend eternity in hell, I spent many years of internal struggle, research, discussion, hunger to know who “God” is. As I looked at the life and character of Jesus, as well as the apostles testimony of him, I came to the conclusion that Jesus is what God really like. And Jesus gave that testimony, that whoever sees the Son sees the Father. Jesus revealed what God is like once and for all, an Abba who is for us and not against us, and whose goal is to heal and restore this broken world.

Turning all of these Facebook writings into a book has been a long and tedious process because of how much I have daily posted and discussed on Facebook for years. This has been a long effort of editing and piecing together thousands of pages of material into a coherent book form. While it has taken way longer than I thought for various life reasons, I’m finally finishing the final edit of the book.

”God is like Jesus” is a simple yet profound statement that helps us deconstruct the god made in our own image that looks nothing like Jesus. To know the character and nature of God, one only need to look to the Jesus of the gospels. In the life, teaching, ethic, and in the cross of Jesus is the culmination of the progressive revelation of scripture showing God to be a non-violent, compassionate Father who is for us and who's goal it is to bring restorative justice to the world. This means what we see in the life of Jesus takes preeminence above all other revelation. In the human face of Christ is God's self-disclosure. In this book, I will include all the many ways I have expressed this in my Facebook writings condensed into one coherent book.

Seeing that I live paycheck to paycheck, I make no money from the countless hours that I have spent working on this material. It is simply my passion to help others come to a more beautiful and healing understanding of God and the gospel, to free those in the chains of fear-based religion and be a part of bringing heaven to earth. For this reason I am asking anyone who believes in this message to help me raise the funds for my first book “God Is Like Jesus”. All this money will go to editing, design, and duplication of the book. I’ve never done this before, so if anyone has any recommendations on how to best go about this, I would appreciate it.
