Visualize this scene with me for a moment. Try and imagine seventeen students sitting in a circle on a Noah’s ark area rug in a very full, yet carefully arranged classroom. These students have just recited the monthly Bible passage as a group and have discussed what God is telling His people through His words. This month’s Bible verse for studying and memorizing comes from Luke 12:22-32. This passage is God’s word to us, His flock, to have no fear. We need not worry about anything because God has it all in His hands. He blesses us and provides us with what we need daily. Now, many, if not all, of the students have their hands raised, eagerly waiting for their name to be called. They are not being chosen for a prize or an award. These students are hoping that they will be able to choose the next hymn that will be sung by the group as they praise the one true God. Then, as they begin to sing, you hear nothing but complete adoration and love for God just pouring out these children. Their excitement and passion is so contagious that you can’t contain your own enthusiasm and so you join in equally matching theirs.
This is not a scene or event you will witness in most schools. However, this is an experience St. John Lutheran School is blessed to have each weekday. Every morning, the students and teachers gather together to have a morning prayer and praise gathering to begin the school day. This focuses the students and teachers on the Lord right from the very start of the day. As the day continues, students experience Bible lessons, along with their other academics all centered on Christ. History, science, math, and more are all taught from a Biblical worldview. Children receive individualized lessons and tasks so that they can excel in their strengths and use these strengths to improve the areas that may not be as strong. As parents in the Boosters, we support the teachers as they provide students with experiences that foster growth in academic learning, social learning, and Christian character.
Currently, our school is gearing up for the 2019-2020 school year. We are excited to welcome two new teachers to our staff! Even though it is summer, teachers and staff have been busily preparing curriculum and rearranging classrooms. Excitement is overflowing at St. John's!
Even with all the excitement and preparation, our school needs YOUR help. God has blessed us with volunteers who give us their time. God has blessed us with staff that has gone above and beyond. We could go on and on about the numerous ways God has touched our school. Please consider joining with us in financial support as we continue to grow our students by expanding our STEM program, our literacy curriculum, our extra curricular activities, and our staff.
Thank you for considering to support St. John Lutheran School!
