Family and friends, at this time we are asking for donations to go towards financial support to help my Nino and Nina (Darin and Delores McGee). They have shared many years together, through marriage and faith. Over 30 years of companionship and friendship, the last 5 years they have been the true testament of “ in sickness and in health “.
In 2015, my Nino was a victim of a hate crime that left him disabled with Traumatic Brain Injury. From that incident, my Nino has gone through many health challenges. Leaving him with the inability to care for himself. Which required him to need 24hr care. Resulting in my Nina losing her job, in order to take care of him, because he was not able to walk or do simple things for himself.
Over the past 4 years, our family watched as his health rapidly declined. Recently as of last year, he was diagnosed with ALS. By the time he was diagnosed, he was already in the late stages of ALS and in respiratory failure.
This has become a very difficult time for our family. But the fighter that my Nino is, he has never given up on himself. Always keeping his faith in God and love for our family. Also, being a pillar in his community and a Deacon at his church - Great Glory Community Church.
2020 has been a challenging year for most, but especially for our family. Not knowing anything about ALS prior to the diagnoses, we have all had to educate ourself on the disease and it’s complications as we’ve witnessed the challenges my Nino has gone through. With more frequent visits to the hospital, my Nino and his body have been through a lot of stress. No matter what obstacles that have been thrown his way, he has always managed to trust in God and his will to defy the odds.
With his recent ER visit, we were notified that he is now comatose and he is now transitioning to go to be with his Lord and Savior. My Nino is now at home and will be home receiving care from his family. At this time, our family is asking for donations to help My Nino and Nina during this hard time. These past few years my Nina has been his sole caregiver, she chose to put her life on hold, in order to take care of her husband full time.
No family should have to worry about funeral cost while they’re spending their last days with their loved one, let alone how they’re going to lay them to rest. These donations will help lessen the financial load that has been placed upon our family. Anything you can do can help us out, prayer, sharing this post and financial assistance, no donation is too small.
If you’re not interested in going through the GoFundMe page, you can choose to use zelle and direct message me for more information.
God Bless you and thank you for the love and support.
