Hi, on Nov. 29th, 2014, my son Jacob Ison, was involved in a horrific car accident. He has been fighting for his life. He has been diagnosed as being paralyzed. Jacob is unable to feel anything below his chest.  His right shoulder was broken and has had surgery to repair that.  Not to mention his other should is fractured, broken ribs, etc. Jacob's vertebrates C6 and C7 (in neck) were crushed. He is now breathing without a ventilator but has a trach. Jacob is still in the Trauma/ICU unit in Louisville, KY. Then to Frazier rehab, where they specialize in Spinal Cord injuries. He does have insurance but we need help meeting the deductible for 2014 and 2015. Then paying Cobra to continue insurance.  I also have a daughter/his sister to care for.  We also need to obtain a vehicle that will be handicap accessible in addition to making modifications to our home to accommodate Jacob.  Currently, I am on FMLA to care for my son and learn how to care for him once he leaves Frazier rehab.  I am not receiving any income.  We have a very long road ahead of us. Life can change in less than a second and is so incredibly priceless. Jacob's strength, courage, determination and will to live a productive life is simply amazing!
