Goblin is the most incredible, unique playful ball of fur. He has two kids and a very entitled girlfriend called Goose. He is the best gift I’ve ever received and his talkative, silly, greedy for attention nature uplifts everyone around him every day. I can’t stress how vital this guy is to myself and his fur family.
His name, goblin, was given to him because that’s all he usually does, always gobbling everything! So when he stopped eating one day last week, We knew something was immediately wrong. After 24 hours of his refusal, he was booked in at the vets.
The vet recommended a blood test, but upon his blood being taken, his vein collapsed and it began to bruise. This led to him being referred to Dick White Referrals in Cambridge.
After a triage with the vet, I was told that they estimated the stay to be £5000. To admit him, I had to pay £2500 as a deposit. On the first evening, the vet called and explained an ultrasound showed his abdomen was full of fluid. This, in combination with his fever and refusal of food led him to believe Goblin has FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). After further tests and a couple more days at the hospital, Goblin had to be intubated due to him still refusing to eat and some further complications with various tests. The vet was more confident he has FIP after observing a change in his retina during an ocular scan and decided to pursue the treatment for FIP. The antiviral medication for treating FIP will cost £550 per bottle, and this in turn with the hospital bills is adding up to a substantial and life altering total. Any donations that anyone could give to help towards getting our Goblin better would be accepted with extreme gratitude, thank you!
