GoatFundMe 2023
Hello all. We are The Belmont Goats, an urban herd located in Portland, Oregon. For the past 10 years, we have been a free place to spend time with the sweetest goats you have ever meet.

Recently we experienced the first loss of a member of the herd, Phil. We have previously asked for support in the past for medical and moving expenses, and our community has supported us through all of it with a gracious heart. Our youngest twins turned 9 on the Winter Solstice, and we have no intention of adding to the herd at this point in time. With this, we are now faced with the realization our herd is aging and we need to start to prepare for potential health issues and keep our herd as safe and comfortable as possible.
We are also preparing to move from our current spot to make way for a safe rest village. We've been here for 4 years, and we anticipate there being some repairs and supplies needed after moving the 2 barns and the shed. We also have plans to reinforce our safety measures after an incident this past week, and will be spending time assessing the best way to install cameras or other monitoring devices at the field. We do not have a set date for our move yet, but plan to announce that via social media as soon as we have more information, and will also be putting out a call for volunteers for those who may want to help us physically make the jump.
We are a volunteer-run, donation-based non-profit that has survived thanks to the love and support of the greater community. We plan on doing a future fundraiser where we provide shirts, pins, or other goat-related merch. Let us know what you would like to see!
We owe our existence and continued operation to our community, both at home and at large. Without our people, we wouldn't be where we are. So, thank you to everyone who has continued to stick by us and support us while we transition into this next phase and we welcome you to come out during our open gate hours for some goat snuggles!
