Sickle cell disorder is a genetic condition that affects millions of people worldwide. It changes the shape of red blood cells, reducing their ability to carry oxygen around the body. This can lead to extreme fatigue and, in more severe cases, painful blockages in blood vessels that can cause serious health complications.
To raise awareness and funds, we are organizing a series of 5-a-side football tournaments at our school. Every penny raised will go directly to the Sickle Cell Society—a charity dedicated to supporting individuals living with sickle cell disorder, improving standards of care, and increasing public awareness about this often-overlooked condition.
This cause is incredibly personal to me. I’ve lived with sickle cell anaemia since birth, and I’ve experienced the intense pain of sickle cell crises firsthand. In the past, blood clots in my legs left me hospitalized and unable to walk. Thankfully, I recovered and was able to return to my normal life—and even continue playing the tennis regularly.
But many people around the world aren’t as fortunate. They live with daily pain and are unable to participate in activities most of us take for granted. By supporting the Sickle Cell Society, we can help improve their quality of life through better care, treatment, and support services.
Please donate whatever you can—and help us spread the word by sharing this page with your friends and family.
Together, we can make a real difference.
Thank you for your support.
