Goalkeepers For Good- 2020 RGA Christmas Fund

Join us again this year as the Richmond Goalkeeping Academy Goalkeepers and our RGA Family set out again to give back to our community. This year RGA Goalkeepers have chosen two local non-profits who are helping those in the community who have been impacted the most by COVID-19. Our Goalkeepers have set a goal to raise $5,000 from November 22-December 19th, 2020.
Non-Profit #1: Moments of Hope Outreach. Based in Hanover, VA, Moments of Hope has continued to help 100's of families keep food on their table and provide emergency shelter to those who have lost their homes. This Christmas it is our goal to help purchase $2,082 of canned and boxed food to donate to their food pantry. Since March 2020 (beginning of COVID), Moments of Hope have seen their food pantry numbers go from 250 to 600 people served per week! These are families from all of Richmond, Hanover, Ashland, and Caroline County. In addition to their outreach, emergency shelter, and food pantry, Moments of Hope also provides shelter to those that are homeless and / or are living out of their vehicle during the Christmas Holidays. It is our goal to help sponsor 14 families and individuals this Christmas, giving them an opportunity to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in a hotel where they have a bed to sleep in, a hot shower and heat. Also, we will be giving a $25.00 fast food gift card so that they can have a nice meal during their stay.
Non-Profit #2: SHOOD. Shood is a non-profit based out of Chesterfield, VA. Shood collects used running shoes from the public, disinfects, and cleans them and gives shoes away to those in need and the homeless. Most recently, Shood has started working with local inner city schools, providing their track and field team with running shoes, special track spike shoes and running socks.
We are so excited to give-back to these two organizations who are giving to many in our community who are in need and have been impacted the most by COVID-19.
Any donation, even a dollar helps us hit our goals. By ourselves we can impact a few, but together we can impact the world! Please help us by sharing this with others and on social media.
