Hi. My name is Stephanie Blanco. I’m 14, and I’ll be a freshman at West Ottawa High school. My parents had the dream to come to this country from Cuba. Their dream of coming to United States came true. Since they arrived to this country they have worked very hard as individuals, as a couple, and as my parents!! They provide my brother and I with everything. Not only the things we need, but many of the things we want as well. I consider myself very blessed and lucky as I know many children and teenagers out there do not have the opportunity to go on vacations, to go out to dinner as a family, or have any extra curricular activities. With much effort and hard work, my parents have provided us with things such as these. With the support of my parents, I have practiced karate, more specifically Tang Soo Do since December of 2017, and have worked very hard through long hours of practice to make it to competition. I recently participated in the WKC’s (World
Karate and Kickboxing Commission) National Championship, and qualified to represent Team USA in Killarney, Ireland.I could not believe I was being given such an amazing opportunity!! The World Championship will take during October of 2022. (Oct 8th-13th) My parents are extremely proud of my accomplishments and will do anything in their power to help me get there. Friends and family, I humbly ask for any support to help cover costs for this once in a lifetime opportunity. Money raised will go to a Team USA uniform (traditional), a Team USA sparring uniform, registration fees, spectator tickets, food, a hotel, transportation to and from the hotel, and flight tickets. Anything helps. Thank you all in advance, and go Team USA!!
