On 6/3/2006 Roxanne was involved in a car accident. On that date Rox became a quadriplegic. Roxanne has worked at full time careers since the age of 16. Holding that all Americans dream of paying her dues, investing her money and someday retiring, with all her hard work benefiting her long term plans.
It didn’t turn out that way.
Her living cost, insurance, medical bills and home nursing costs have stripped her of everything she ever worked for. Everything.
She has lost everything.
On August 23, 2018, after just being released from an emergency hospital visit, Roxanne was attacked by a person that had also just been discharged from the hospital. A disable handicapped Roxanne sitting in her power wheelchair was brutally attacked This attack injured her head ,neck and shoulder area. Many more hurtles for her to face. PTSD, financial ruin, unpaid medical bills, collections, housing, non affordable home care, transportation difficulties, the list goes on and on.
Roxanne has nightmares, mentally unclear and anxiety have caused further damage.
Many nightmares, yelling, crying for help and confused.
On February 2, 2020, Roxanne had another nightmare. Back when she was being attacked, her only defense was to move her wheelchair back away from this attacker. On this February night her wheelchair mode was in backrest mode. Roxanne was unknowingly putting her backrest all the way reclined. Causing her to fall out head first, backwards onto the floor.
Roxanne was again injured. 15 stitches in her foot, a broken femur, a broken knee, and a broken tibia.
Currently Roxanne is in the hospital, fully casted, has received a blood transfusion and struggling to financially cover costs. Doctors estimate a 6-8 week Hospital stay.
Please help Roxanne with medical bills( past, current and future) after hospital care, physical, therapy,transportation.and to stay in her home vs a nursing home.
