HELP BRING OUR SURREAL WESTERN COMEDY TO LIFE
Go Rest Young Man is a darkly comic, surreal short film about dying myths, inherited failure, and the cost of chasing freedom — all set in a decaying gas station called “Cowboy’s.”
James, a lonely clerk clinging to cowboy fantasies, is stuck between his father’s gambling addiction and the slow, fluorescent death of their family business. As his Wild West daydreams crumble into trash-strewn nightmares, he meets a sinister Man in Black — a tempter who offers him a way out. No more rules. Just take what’s yours, and ride free.
But freedom, it turns out, comes at a price. And the outlaw James wants to be might look a lot like the man he's trying not to become.
This is a student short — bold, strange, and deeply personal. Think Once Upon a Time in the West meets Clerks with a surreal, dreamlike twist. We’re raising funds to cover essential costs like gear, locations, costumes, set dressing, and feeding our hard-working cast and crew.
If you’ve ever loved a flawed dreamer, questioned the American dream, or just want to support fresh, ambitious student filmmaking, we’d be incredibly grateful for your help.
