Go Over the Edge for Bill

On October 7, Bill Newell was driving to Granby, Colorado after spending the day watching his grandson ride in his high school mountain bike race.  On a switchback on Berthoud Pass his car went off the road and descended down over 300 feet, coming to a stop after hitting trees and rocks .  After dialing 911, he was located and rescued by Grand County's finest police, firefighters, EMS, mountain rescue teams, and the Colorado State patrol.

By the grace of God, Bill's injuries are much less than they could have been.  He sustained a cracked vertebrae, 4 broken ribs, a severly broken wrist, and multiple skin tears and bruises.  Thankfully, he has no head trauma.  He started out in Denver's St. Anthony's ICU and continues his stay in a step-down floor.  He will have a minimum of 2 surgeries on his wrist - to set the bones  and for skin grafts. After he has recovered from these and deemed stable,  he will be released from the hospital to a physical rehabilitation facility.   Through all of this he will have a long road ahead to rebuild physically, mentally, spiritually, and financially.

In the coming weeks and months, Bill will have numerous expenses  - medical costs not covered by Medicare, transportation to appointments, replacement of his vehicle and thank yous for rescue personnel.  We are looking to support him in this time of need and rebuilding, any type of help is appreciated.  Ways to support him are:
--Financial support
--Low cost or no cost housing
--Borrow a car

Thank you so much for your willingness to help!
