LIFE-SAVING SURGERY FOR NURSE LANI

Donation protected
I'm reaching out to you on behalf of an extraordinary person, and a very dear friend, Lani Perez Obenia, who is racing to beat the most challenging stage of her life.
I wanted to share her story with you.

Lani is a mother to four young boys and a devoted wife to Randy. A Registered Nurse by profession, she persevered even further for higher education to earn both a Master’s Degree and a PhD in her chosen field of Nursing. Lani will tell you however that her biggest accomplishment is as an educator to her young students, who all went on to become successful in their nursing profession helping the sick and the needy, and their family.

An avid runner and marathoner, Lani maintained a healthy and balanced lifestyle, but on May 29, Lani woke up unable to see in her right eye. She went to the hospital thinking it would be routine, that she would get in and get out and have a controllable disorder and go on with her day. Unfortunately they found a large mass on her brain. A meningioma that has been growing aggressively and pressing on her right eye and causing the blindness. Now a simple condition turned into major surgery (craniectomy), with possible chemo and radiation treatments to follow, and months of rehab to overcome the surgery. She is scheduled for surgery at St.Luke’s Hospital next week, the surgeons are hopeful that the tumor can be removed. This life saving surgery will be a monumental cost to Lani and her family as they were told to prepare no less than one million pesos just to cover the surgery. I am asking for anything that can help Lani’s family get a hold of the financials as we try to keep her and her family in our thoughts and prayers.

If you could support my GoFundMe by making a donation and then sharing it among your network, I would greatly appreciate it. I know that money can be tight, so please know that a $10 or$20 will help me get closer to my goal!

We want Lani to know that all of us are here for her and her family while she is healing and recovering from brain surgery.

Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll be happy to answer them.
