Go Gold for Graham!
Donation protected
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Approximately 1 in 285 children will be diagnosed with cancer before their 20th birthday. Two months ago, we were devastated to learn that our family would be personally affected by this statistic. Graham, the happy, energetic 3-year-old son of Logan and Chuck Mulling, Kohler’s cousin and my close friend, was diagnosed with a rare translocation of Ewing Sarcoma. The last few months have been full of doctors, hospitals, and chemotherapy. All of which are working to make Graham better, but are currently making him feel so much worse. In honor of Graham and all the other children suffering from this unimaginable disease, I will be running the David Goggins 4x4x48 Challenge.
What is it? I will be running 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours. A total of 48 miles in 48 hours.
When is it? I will be starting the challenge at 4:00 pm on 9/29 and finishing at noon on 10/1, which also happens to be Graham’s 4th birthday.
Where is it? I will be running different 4 mile routes in different parts of Brookhaven, Chamblee, and Dunwoody.
How can you get involved? You can be involved in two different ways. First is with donations. My goal is to raise $100 for every mile I run, a total of $4800. (I would love to blow this out of the water, if possible.) 50% will go to directly to the Mulling family to help with all the added expenses that they have during this time. And 50% will go to the Aflac Cancer Center at CHOA in Graham’s name. The other way you can be involved is by joining me for a portion of the challenge. The week before, I will publish my starting times and locations. Each section will consist of a four mile loop. Kohler has requested that at least one be kid and stroller friendly. (Bikes, scooters…) I would love for as many people as possible to join in.
My goal is to raise awareness and to raise money to help fight this terrible disease. Even if you’re not able to participate this time, please keep Graham and the Mulling family in your prayers as they fight this battle everyday. The last run will finish at Keswick Park where Graham might join us to celebrate his birthday if he feels up to it.
Running Routes (These are the starting and ending points for each run. There is parking at each location. Let me know if you're planning on joining for a particular run so I can meet you at the starting point.)
