Go Fund Yaz

On Thursday, October 8, the apartment of my best friend, Yasmine Mifdal, was broken into in Chicago. In addition to taking a number of personal effects, the robbers took all of Yasmine's microphones, in-ear monitors, and her camera.

 

To make matters worse, Yasmine is about to leave to do U.S. and European tours with the bands Half Waif and Lala Lala, making replacing the stolen equipment crucial. I am so proud of what Yaz has been able to accomplish over the past several years- moving to Chicago without knowing anyone, starting a successful career as a sound engineer, and living her dream of playing saxophones, bass, and keyboard as a touring musician. What should have been a time for celebration has unfortunately turned into a time of uncertainty and woe because of this robbery.

 

We are hoping to fundraise enough money for Yasmine to replace the gear and the other personal items stolen from her apartment. Additionally, Yaz needs to replace her passport before the European tour begins.

COVID has been extremely hard for the music industry. During the shutdowns, Yaz was not able to gig out, making this an increasingly difficult time.
