Go Fund Numi - My Sweetest Boy Needs Urgent Surgery

Hi everyone. On Tuesday, I woke up to find one of the cats had thrown up all over the dining room. Then I found my sweet, handsome Numi hiding behind a planter.

After not eating for a day, I brought him to the vet. We opted to try supportive care for a couple of days and bring him back for more diagnostics if needed. At home, he continued to not feed himself or eliminate, and showed no signs of getting better.

After further examination today, it’s been determined he has an intestinal obstruction, which, if it perforates the organ, will kill him. He will need surgery to remove the blockage.

With the initial examination and medications, today’s further testing, X-ray, Ultrasound, and surgery, the total cost is nearly $9,000. I am searching frantically for the means to cover this cost.

This has come at a time that I am already living paycheck to paycheck, and had to take out a large loan for another necessary expense.

But my cats are my family. They’re my babies. They’re the ones waiting for me at the door every day when I come home. They follow me around the house and cuddle me at night. They mean the world to me. So I will be doing whatever it takes to bring Numi back to good health and home with his sister Safa.

I need help. Anyone who knows me knows I’m very reluctant to ask for help and generally suffer in silence. But those who know me also know how much my cats mean to me.

The cats need me to be well, too, and this unexpected and massive expense will put a huge burden on all of us.
