Hi, my name is Kathleen and I am a School Council Co-Chair at Winona Senior Public School in Toronto.

On Tuesday, May 30, 2023, one of our school caretakers, Idalia Lopes, was hit by a car at Oakwood and Holland. She was transported via helicopter to Sunnybrook with life-threatening conditions. Her husband, Teodoro Chavez, also works as a caretaker at our school and he has been with her at the hospital. Both Idalia and Teo also work at McMurrich Junior Public School (which is adjoined to Winona). Our school community is hoping that Idalia makes a strong recovery. These funds are to help Idalia and Teo during this very difficult time.
