On January 18th, Felipe’s wife, Cholie (Nichole Diaz) found him unconscious at home. He had suffered a brain aneurysm without warning. Felipe was rushed to University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, where he underwent surgery for the aneurysm on January 19th. He is currently in Intensive Care at U of M Hospital, where he will be in recovery for the next two weeks.
Felipe has worked for the Roadhouse for seven years, and during that time has contributed greatly to the success of our restaurant and its team. He is a trainer, a teacher, and plays an integral role with our wine and beverage program. But first and foremost, he provides unparalleled service to our guests and his coworkers. Felipe embodies a brilliant mind, heart, and soul, which is witnessed in the love and care he brings to each and every interaction. He is a dear friend, an outstanding husband and father, and is loved by all.
We are so grateful that Felipe was able to receive medical care and that his condition is improving. However, Felipe will be out of work while he is recovering. His wife Cholie (Nichole Diaz) will be taking time off from Zingerman’s Coffee Company as well to take care of Felipe. We are asking for support for Felipe, Cholie, and Fernando while they get through this challenging time. All donations will go towards helping to cover the costs of Felipe's treatment, and towards meeting the needs of Felipe's family while they are out of work.
Thank you so much for your contribution. We are truly better people because of Felipe’s presence, and in turn would love to help an amazing individual who has brought so much meaning to our lives.
