Carol fought like crazy and with bravery her first bout with Cancer and succeeded in beating it! Sadly her cancer has returned and she needs our help.

Carol has worked at the Elko Daily Free Press for over 25 years, and is the “HEART” of the newspaper as her job touches every facet of the publication as well as every person that works there is touched by her kindness and natural ability to help.
Carol is one of those friends that is always “THERE”. She has raised her 3 stepchildren as they were her own, plus helping one whom was severely injured in an auto accident at the age of 13, took care of her mother, father & brother until they died, and has been a supportive person for all of her family, friends & coworkers with genuine love and kindness with no thought to herself. She has taken people in, leant them money, watched their kids, and made food for any who needed her. Her home has been the most welcome place for so many as she is a natural and world class hostess. Her remarkable cooking & baking skills have been enjoyed by all who know her.
Carol was diagnosed with primary peritoneal cancer May 2016. June 2016 she had her 1st Operation when they removed part of the largest tumor. However they had to closer her up because they found over 1000+ tumors! She started Chemotherapy. Oct 2016, Carol had a 2nd operation to remove remaining tumors and cancer cells. From complications she was in ICU for a week - continued in-hospital treatment to heal for over 2 weeks & Home treatment for a month. A near death experience returned Carol to the ICU and Hospital care for over a month. April 2017 she finished her last Chemotherapy. June 2017 they discovered a small breast cancer cell which they removed. Carol was in remission until May 2019. Her positive attitude and prayers from everyone helped her through the toughest of times.
Sadly we are here because Carol’s cancer has returned: June 2019 diagnosed with Peritoneal Cancer and Lymph Node Cancer. She has incurred a lot of debt which has made retiring impossible. Gail, her husband who is retired,is also experiencing health challenges. She has begun Chemo at the Huntsman Institute in Salt Lake City and her spirit to fight is as strong as ever. She is still working full time. She needs our help to get through the expense of treatments.
Carol means the world and more to so many who know her and we cannot begin to imagine life without her. For as long as we have known and loved Carol, she has always put everyone else first. Always there to help others whenever needed, a completely selfless soul and for her we ask for help.
