Hi, my name is Ashley. I'm Kel-Kel's mom. If you know Kelsey, you know she would give her last dollar to anyone in need, while needing it herself! She's straight to the point kinda gal, she loves all animals, and she loves wholeheartedly! It's tough seeing my girl sick; her contagious laugh and smile are who she is!!! She's just not herself. She has been very sick. First and foremost, I'm asking that you lift Kel up in prayer, and ask for your help financially while Kelsey has to be off work. She is 23 and SINGLE, no CHILDREN yet, but the bills don't get paid when you CAN'T work. Thank you so much and God bless you for your help!!!!
On Friday, the 24th of October, I woke up with what I thought was just a heavy period—lots of cramping, not too bad, just thought it was gonna be a rough period. On October 25th, Saturday morning, I woke up with a pain in my left side of my back and my stomach along with period cramps. I worked through it that day. Halfway through the day Saturday, I had a burning sensation when I went to the bathroom, so I went to DG and got some Azo, and that cleared my burning sensation up, but the pain was still pretty bad. On October 26th, Sunday morning, I woke up in unbearable pain and went to Tupelo ER where they ran several tests and diagnosed me with an ascending bladder infection that turned into a double kidney infection. They treated me with 2 1/2 bags of fluid and a bag of antibiotics to get me through the next 24 hours. My blood work looked good, and nothing out of the ordinary in my pee, and I wasn’t vomiting, so they deemed it safe for me to come home Sunday night and told me to come back Monday morning for a follow-up with the doctor that treated me in the ER. I woke up still in pain Monday morning and went straight to the hospital. They drew blood and got more pee to test, and when they came back, everything still looked good, but my doctor admitted me anyway. Thankfully they did because with further testing, they realized I was going septic. It’s all kind of a daze from there. There were good days and bad days, some things I don’t remember, but all I know is I’m glad to be home. I have a follow-up appointment on November the 5th, and from there, they are gonna refer me to a rheumatologist because the doctors are concerned I have an autoimmune disorder. I am doing okay, just really weak and still sick. The antibiotics I’m taking to rid the sickness make me sick. I can’t stand on my feet for long periods of time or do very many things before I have to lay down again.
