Hi, my name is Guster, and I am an 11-year-old cocker spaniel mix. I rescued my mom about 10 years ago when she came to the shelter where I lived and walked me. We have both been working at a doggy daycare for these 10 years, so I have lots of friends, but I don't see them much anymore. This year, by some strange coincidence, we were both diagnosed with IBD. I don't know what that is, but my tummy hurts a lot, and I have to poo about 10-14 times a day now. I know I should potty outside, but I can't hold it much, so my mom has to clean up after me. I feel the worst when I make a mess on the couch or bed. Sometimes I can't help but cry when I poo because it hurts so bad. My mom has tried feeding me a lot of different yummy foods, but they all give me diarrhea. I've met a lot of doctors recently, and they seem nice, but they make me very nervous, especially when they take me away from my mom so much. She said they've had to do two ultrasounds, x-rays, an upper and lower endoscopy, and digital bougienage for anal strictures, but all I remember is lots of sticking me with needles and making me take pills. They even made me wear a cone and mom had to put powder on my butt because it got all red. I've been losing weight too. I see my mom crying a lot these days, and I don't want to leave her. She needs me to watch over her, bark at intruders, and cuddle her on the couch. I heard her say things have cost about $10,000 already, so I'm begging for donations instead of treats. I'm willing to do all the tricks I know: sit, paw, high five, down, roll over, speak, and even sing.
