Hi! My name is Heather and the man pictured above is my father Dale Golightly! My siblings and I have decided to create a GoFundMe page for
our father and step-mother Viki. Our father was diagnosed with MDS, a form of Leukemia in
March 2020.

Prior to his diagnosis he was a hard working
man with a full time job. Our father has been
out of work since March 3, 2020. His wife Viki
has maintained her work schedule to continue
bringing money in to help pay their bills. But
money is starting to get tight. And more
money will be needed as Viki will have go part
time or stop working completely to help care
for my father and his upcoming bone marrow
transplant late summer, early fall. They will
have to temporarily live in Augusta, GA for
3-6 months after our fathers procedure to
make sure his body responds well to the
transplant and to finish out his treatment.

Our father has spent a lot of time in the
hospital and doctors offices over the past few
months due to his illness. He has had
multiple bone marrow biopsies, he receives
weekly blood transfusions, usually 2 a week,
and frequent lab work is done to make sure his
white blood cell count, red blood cell count,
platelets, and hemoglobin are staying in a
good range. He’s also had numerous scans
done and dental appointments to make sure
his heart, lungs, teeth and other organs are
healthy enough to withstand this procedure. A
procedure that is going to save his life! 

Having cancer is draining. Not only physically
and mentally, but financially as well. If you are
