We were loading up to go home and he was first on the trailer, he walked in perfectly, I clipped him and he was standing munching on hay. I backed away and patted him and told him he was a good boy and it’s time to go home, and then he panicked. He hit the end of the tie and lost his hind end, and I got trapped under him. Jackie came and hit the quick release and he went down. Unfortunately while he went down he whacked his head pretty good. He struggled for a long time but after about an hour we were able to get him to stand. Once he did, he was extremely wobbly and shaky on his feet. We didn’t even think he’d make the ride to state, but somehow he did.

He is currently at Michigan State University fighting for his life, and beating all the odds.
