My name is Bella Zella Joey Jaboop Gordon or Bella for short. I am a 6 years old mutt and on January 17th I experienced a seizure while on a walk with my Mom.  After I came to,  my Mom was able to get me to her car where it was warm, until my Dad came  to take us to a 24 hour emergency vet. The doctor informed my parents that my blood sugar was low and that additional testing would be needed. After staying the night at MedVet West, I was released to my Mom and Dad with the instructions to get our normal Vets opinion.  So after another car ride we arrived at our new vet. They took some more blood and noticed my glucose levels were still very low. The vet gave me a bolus to try and raise glucose levels but they still wouldn't rise. For reference a normal glucose level for dogs is around 80 to 120, Mine was at 45. The vet recommended we see an internal medicine specialist because I could have Insulinoma. My parents rushed me to Akron, yes another car ride, to the Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital.  I was taken once again to have my blood drawn for more test. The Doctor talked to my parents, and I can only imagined what happen in that room but I had to stay in a hospital once again.  I had multiple test run, and my belly shaved to have an ultrasound.  That really upset me because I love my belly rubbed and didn't want to show off my terrible hair cut after that.  The specialist gave me some really good food that I scarfed down as much as I could.  It was getting late and once again I was away from home. After an entire day of test and being in a cage, they were  putting a leash on me and walking me down a  long hallway. The Doctor opened a door and it was my Mom and Dad. I was so excited to see them I gave them lots of kisses and helped clean up my Moms tears.  They gave me hugs and kisses back and lots of petting. I was going to get to go home, hopefully for good.  After the vets everything seemed good, I got free run of the house and was getting fed like crazy. I even got this food dish that calls me to eat every couple hours.  Every dog should have this, its the best thing since the Kong. A week went by and my parents got a call from the Doctors confirming the worst, I had insulinoma. They tell me that is Cancer of the Pancreases beta cells. They had a couple options to help me. The first is a regulated diet and medicine, which could give me anywhere from a couple months to 2 years. The second option is surgery which could be noninvasive but could give me a lot longer with the people that love me more than anything. I knew what my parents would choose instantly. I am set to have surgery in the next couple weeks and I am a little scared. Mom and Dad would do anything for me so I am trying  to help them out a bit with the hospital bills they are getting. Surgery is going to cost around 5,000 bones. Sorry I mean dollars,  the bones to dollar conversion is about the same though.  I know we would all be grateful for some help in this trying time. Please help me have the chance to stay longer on this earth and share all my love.  Any dollar raised over the goal amount will be donated to local shelters and rescues to help my brother and sisters who dont have a loving home or massive medical bills like myself.
