Go bald with Mitch for Teenage Cancer Trust
For those of you who aren’t already aware, after a puzzling few months of pain, as it turned out It was only flippin' Cancer.
It's been a mad few weeks since getting a diagnosis and exactly 2 weeks after starting chemotherapy, just like Liverpool lifting the premier league trophy, the inevitable was upon us... as the joys of my hair falling out begun!
As there aren’t many ways in which my friends and family can help me out at the moment, especially in the current climate, it's been pretty cool to hear that a few friends, neighbours and family members have decided to go bald with me by shaving their heads and waxing some painful places, so we can share the load and the inevitable piss taking together!
Even after only spending a short time at the Freeman hospital in Newcastle, since I've started my treatment, I've realised just how much easier my experience has been as a result of the care and support I have received from staff, and the facilities the Teenage Cancer Trust have helped to provide on the ward.
Something as simple as having my own room, not to mention the multiple breakout rooms, with games consoles and even a pool table, make going through treatment, so much easier, and I'm sure I could speak on behahlf of other young people going through similar treatments, in saying I really do feel lucky to be where I am, and privileged to have access to this kind of support.
This is why I’ve decided I would like to try and raise some money for Teenage Cancer Trust. I’m aware that It’s unlikely I'll be able to raise enough money to cover the cost of the care I have received so far, and the care and support I'll receive in the coming months, but I’d really like to raise some money to help them continue to provide the same support to young people in future.
Any donation to the charity will be massively appreciated.
Please feel free to join in yourself or join us on our journey by keeping an eye out for updates. I'm sure It's gonna be a laugh as we all "go bald with Mitch"
Thanks everyone
