My name is Danielle Kruger, I'm a 28 year old student at UC Riverside. I am creating this account on behalf of my dog, Julius. He is a 2 year old Siberian husky with an incredible and loveable personality. Julius loves to go hiking and swimming. Everyone that meets Julius falls in love with him. This morning, we were busy loading things into our friend's car and the front door was open. Julius went outside and when we were calling him to come back inside, he darted out into the street and was hit by a bus. The bus ran over his back right paw and broke his foot in many places and detached all the skin off his paw. He was screaming in pain and went into shock. We rushed him to the emergency pet hospital, California Veterinary Specialists.

The doctor told us that his foot is damaged beyond repair and he will most likley have to have it amputated. The medical care at the hospital is top notch but thet require payment in full and up front before surgery. So until the surgery team can examine him first thng tomorrow morning, Julius is stabilized. They have him on pain meds, fluids and antibiotics. 

The doctor gave us an estimate of what the cost is going to run for his time at the hospital, his x-rays, bloodwork, his fluids, pain meds, antibiotics  and surgery. The total cost will be somewhere aound $6,000. We did not have that money up front, so we applied for CARE Credit but we were only approved for $3,000 which is about half but we still need an additional $3,000. Every penny that is raised in this campaign will go straight to Julius' surgery and medical care. The donations you give today will mean so much to me and my family. We dont just consider Julius to be a pet, he is part of our family. We love him deeply and are trying everything we can to scrounge up extra money to pay for this surgery. We are so thankful that he did not lose his life today in this accident and I'm hoping that if we can get this surgery done, he can still enjoy a long happy life, even if he only has three legs left.
