GNR 2024 for Parkinson’s UK
Hi my name is Ellen and this year I am running the great north run to raise money for Parkinson’s UK. My grandpa
Bill/William (El Prez to those that know him) was diagnosed with the disease 12 years ago.
Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition. It causes problems in the brain and gradually gets worse over time. Around 153,000 people live with Parkinson’s in the UK. And it's the fastest growing neurological condition in the world.
My grandpa’s coped with the condition really well and managed to keep it under control with the help of treatments and keeping himself busy/ active. But the last 12 months the disease has progressed and has began to really affect his mobility and memory.
I am running for Parkinson’s UK to raise money for further research into the disease and possible treatments. To help people just like my grandpa to live a long and happy life. All donations would mean the world to me and my family
