Hi, my name is Eman, and I’m raising funds for one of the bravest, most beautiful people I know. My dear friend, Liana.

Liana is a devoted wife and an incredible mother to a gorgeous two year old boy. She is warm, gentle, and deeply compassionate. The kind of person who gives endlessly to others. For many years, she was a primary school teacher, shaping young lives with patience and care, until her own health began to decline.

In 2022, Liana made the heartbreaking decision to step away from teaching as her health deteriorated. She was experiencing severe airway issues that required constant medical intervention, including bronchoscopies every one to two weeks. The physical toll, combined with the time away from work, became impossible to manage. Eventually, she had no choice but to prioritise survival over the career she loved.

Liana was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer called adenoid cystic carcinoma. A cancer that began in her trachea and has since spread to her spine, lymph nodes, and lungs.

After years of relentless medical procedures, Liana finally saw some improvement when she fell pregnant with her miracle baby and changed doctors. Her airway issues became well managed, and for the first time in a long while, there was a sense of stability and hope. But heartbreakingly, that peace was short lived.

When Liana was 24 weeks pregnant, she received devastating news: the cancer had returned and spread further. This time, the words no one ever wants to hear were spoken… it’s palliative and there is no cure. The only option is treatment to slow the progression and buy more time.

Despite this unimaginable reality, Liana continues to show extraordinary strength. She is currently undergoing intense chemotherapy, all while being a full-time mother to a toddler who adores her. Like so many facing cancer, she is now losing her hair. A deeply personal and confronting loss that represents far more than appearance. It’s another reminder of everything this disease takes.

While Liana is beautiful beyond words with or without hair, she has shared that owning a nice wig would help her feel more like herself. More confident, more comfortable, more Liana. Unfortunately, with mounting medical expenses, the inability to work, and the demands of caring for her young family, this is simply not something she can afford right now.

This fundraiser is to help Liana purchase the wig of her dreams. Something that brings her a small sense of normality, dignity, and control at a time when so much feels out of her hands. Any funds raised beyond the cost of the wig will be given directly to Liana, to use however she sees fit. Whether that’s easing financial pressure, supporting her family, or helping her navigate day-to-day life while undergoing treatment.

Liana has faced more than most ever should, yet she continues to meet every challenge with grace, resilience, and quiet courage. She is truly inspirational. This is our chance to wrap her in love and remind her that she is not alone in this fight.
