Flood Help

My friend Chris lives in Holloways Beach, which was hit hard by floods on 17th December 2023 following Cyclone Jasper. Over 1 meter of water has flowed through her house, destroying most of their belongings and swamping the cars. While Chris has insurance for her car, her youngest daughter's car is not covered for flood damage.

Chris's house is insured, but a $6000 excess will mean replacing the car will be difficult financially. The quantity of water that has swept through the house is expected to take some time to clean up. Recovery has also been delayed as the property is inaccessible at present, causing additional stress.

Chris has worked hard to keep her home and has provided for her two girls since her husband died tragically at Christmas several years ago. And was proud to be able to get herself in a position to help her daughter buy her first car. Her daughter has been accepted to University in Brisbane and will start in February. The loss of her car means that it will be a real struggle to get to

work and study.

Chris would find it very difficult to ask for help, but she is aware I'm creating a gofund me and approves of what I've shared. If people could spare some money to assist Chris in replacing her daughter's lost car, I know she would be so grateful. This would relieve some of the anguish she is feeling at this time.
