This is Jack ♥️ he’s 20 months old and mighty despite the hand he’s been drawn. Jack has been suffering from liver issues causing esophageal varices, splenomegaly, and over all discomfort. After many tests and hospitalizations doctors at CHLA have finally concluded Jack suffers from a rare genetic bile acid disorder. Unfortunately in this time Jacks liver has been damaged to the point that Jack will be placed onto the liver transplant list. Since birth Jack has fought through many hardships with his health and although it is a relief to his parents to finally have a diagnosis, its a long road ahead for them.
Jack’s parents John and Lydia, opened their small business LJ’s lil cafe, just over a year before Jack was born and have poured their heart into raising Jack and running their small business together. LJ’s lil cafe takes pride in the popularity they’ve created and the food they offer, from fresh homemade salsas, to locally sourced food. Their breakfast burritos are an Orange County favorite and a community corner stone. Yet their son’s health has had to redirect their efforts at times to be by his side during long hospitalizations, leaving no one to run the shop for them.
Going forward this little family needs our help to support the astronomical expense of a liver transplant as well as the medical bills already acquired figuring out what was making little Jack so sick. This beautiful family has worked tirelessly to maintain their family’s income while providing care to a sick child. If you’ve ever stopped by LJs, you know this small family business is run by family.
On behalf of John and Lydia and the whole LJs family we thank you for your support, love and kind words of corcern for our littlest employee, Jack ♥️
All funds will go to Jack’s medical expenses!
Sincerely written by Auntie Ali
