New Haven's creative music scene is blowing up, and it's time to get more young folks involved! Gneiss is a fluid ensemble of teen and young adult musicians exploring free and guided improvisation, graphic notation, and other experimental idioms. The group is guided by co-conspirators Anne Rhodes and Adam Matlock, in the creative music tradition of collaboration as learning. Because we know that many young artists are exposed early on to the myth of "exposure", we want to help instill the truth that every artist's time and talent is worthy of compensation. We are raising money for young artists' fees for our first performance, at the State House on April 28th as part of the Multiplex series, and to fund future projects. Please help us gain some momentum, plan performances, and welcome new members!
