If you know Danny/Alecia, you're familiar with their immense intellect, the speed with which they convert strangers to friends, and their capacity to delight in the world around them. Our friend is now facing an urgent, life-altering crisis and needs our immediate support.

On December 7, 2025, Danny was discharged from the hospital following a three-week inpatient stay, the result of a severe medical and psychiatric emergency caused by an adverse reaction to a prescribed medication. These circumstances have left them gravely ill and perhaps permanently disabled.

Compounding this health emergency, Danny has also faced a housing crisis, and may soon be living out of their Subaru ("Betty"). Even if they were healthy, this would be a rough prospect at the start of a Bostonian winter. Their loved ones have been providing financial and logistical assistance to the best of our ability, but more is needed.

We hope to raise funds to cover a safe, stable place for Danny to live for the next three months as they navigate the disability application process and seek out permanent subsidized housing. Funds will also cover their other essential bills, allowing Danny to dedicate their strength to the work of recovery.

Friends are managing this campaign, and for financial transparency and to ensure Danny's future eligibility for care, all donations will be deposited into a legally structured Special Needs Trust.
