Never thought I would be making a post like this, but here goes:
“On Thursday, 9/11, Josh woke up in active stroke and was rushed to the ICU. About 8 hours later, he suffered a severe seizure, became unresponsive, and had to be intubated and sedated. Thankfully, he was able to come off sedation and the ventilator on Saturday.
Doctors discovered a small hole in his heart, and he now has a device implanted to monitor his heart 24/7 while they check for Afib.
We were discharged on Tuesday, 9/16, but recovery will be long. Josh has vision loss on his right side, weakness in his arm and leg, and cannot drive for at least 3 months. As our family’s main provider, he is unable to work, and with no insurance, the financial burden is heavy. I will be caring for him full-time and ensuring he gets to every appointment.
We truly hate feeling like we need to ask for help. The love and support we’ve already received from friends, family, and co-workers has been overwhelming and such a blessing to us. For those who have asked how they can continue to help, contributions can be sent through Zelle at [email redacted]
Please know that your prayers, encouragement, and love mean just as much as any financial support.”
