Hello all.   This is Kristin.  Karl Hamann is my brother.  I am starting this go fund me account with his permission. 

In January, Karl got sick and just could not get better.  Last Thursday March 31 he had a chest CT scan that showed a mass.  He is now in Raleigh with me.  I am a nurse navigator with Rex Cancer Center and I think we have a great Thoracic multidisciplinary program that includes great physicians, nurses and staff. 

At this point in his care we are moving towards a diagnosis but getting there takes many steps before treatment can begin.  It is going to be a long, tough road but I want to do whatever I can to make it as good of an experience as it can be. 

Karl and I have had many discussions since he arrived.  I think it is very  important to maintain his home and life in Tribune, Kansas and take the worry out of his daily meds, co-pays and deductibles here in Raleigh.  It is not his nature to ask but he trusts me and I know that there are more people out there that love and want to help him than he realizes.

So, if you are able to help financially in a very small way, I promise to keep his care coordinated, bills paid and holding onto as little worry as possible.  Also please know that he will never be alone. In our cozy home, Karl makes number eight funny person and Max makes number seven furry pet.  Everything is better when we are together.
