My name is Rachel Smith and I am coming to the community to try to help a dear friend of mine. She is a mother of two under the age of 9 years old and has been trying to survive on pennies, and it is just not working. She is behind on rent, her vehicle was repossessed 3 weeks ago, her light bill is due by 9/20/24, and she is at her whit's end. She is a preschool teacher and makes very little a month. She has also applied for Section 8 assistance, but we know that process takes years. She is baking cakes and making candles after work just to try to make extra money on top of cleaning offices after hours.
