In Memory of Jon Cooke

Yesterday at 12:10pm, my loved dad, Jon Cooke left this earth. Just a little over a month before his 61st birthday. My dad fought a long, hard, 30 year battle against Multiple Sclerosis, and now he is finally pain free and at peace. Anyone that knew my dad would tell you he was one of the kindest men they ever knew. He had a heart of gold, and a hell of a sense of humor. He was the most amazing father, husband, brother, son, and friend. He was always there when you needed him. Even on his bad days, he rarely complained. This life was not very fair to him; his disease took a lot from him, making him permanently disabled. He lost most of his fine motor skills and his ability to walk. He kept his chin up and kept fighting until the end, when God called him home. He was the foundation of our family, our rock. We are devastated and lost without him.
I am doing this campaign in hopes of raising enough to put him to rest, and have a proper, well deserved celebration of life to honor him. My dad was not one to ask for a handout, but I am asking because my family really needs help in this hard time. He was taken from us sooner than we expected. What little life insurance he had, will be used to keep the family house and to support my mom until she gets on her feet. My mom dedicated her life to caring for my dad, unable to work because she had to be there to take care of him. With him gone she is not left with much.
Any amount helps and will be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone who has been for there my dad and my family. He touched so many lives and had so many wonderful friends.
I love you daddy, rest in peace, and save a spot for me.
**We will be having Jon's Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 27th at 2pm, at the Fortuna Fire Hall. I hope to see you all there. **
