7th gradersPlease join us in celebrating the efforts of Gateway Middle School teachers and staff as we wind down an unforgettable school year. Please consider a donation to an end of year appreciation fund. It will run like the holiday appreciation did.
We recognize that many GMS families have been impacted by the pandemic, and an appreciation gift is not possible at this time. Please only contribute if and what you can.
NOTE: This is NOT a Gateway Public Schools fundraiser or a contribution to the Annual Fund.
What is the goal?
Distribute approximately $100 to each teacher or staff person as an end of year appreciation gift. Grounds maintenance staff are included. We will distribute the money on June 2nd. We will follow up with a post on Parent Square by June 3rd about the total amount raised and the final amount each individual received.
Why a pooled pot of money?
Best practices for appreciation gifts at the middle school level are different than elementary. Unlike elementary, middle school kids have many teachers who work as a team to scaffold the learning. Paraprofessionals, learning specialists, and advisors work across cohorts within and across grades. Everyone's part is unique and critical.
What if I want to do this AND recognize a specific individual?
1. Contribute to the pool here!
2. Send e-gift cards to or arrange a drop off with Aaron Watson, Director of Programs and Partnerships and former GMS principal, at [email redacted]. Specify the individual recipient of your gift.
