Our Emergency Car and Lodging Fund.

Hello, my name is Stephanie, and I have decided to launch a relatively small campaign to raise some money for a new car and temporary lodging.  About me, I am a 29 year old Navy veteran that's one class away from finishing an associates in Liberal Arts. A future goal is to obtain a BA in Linguistics; language is both important and fun for me :-).  Unfortunately, I've had the time of my life in some of the worst ways possible, 2015 being the worst of all. It started off with being hired full time at a hotel, before being fires 6 weeks later because they didn't like that I had a second job. Their argument was that they preferred someone who had 100% availability. When you have years of debt to work off and current monthly bills, and the work you find only pays single digit wages, having two jobs isnt' exactly the craziest plan. Myimmediate need is survival for my dog and I. So they let me go over that, no arguments or logical form of reasoning would sway them.The next job I found hired me as full time also, but two weeks later, they reduced me from full time to on-call, stating that a guy they'd fired before hiring me wanted his hours back, so they gave him mine instead. Since then (this was November 2015) I've worked a total of 6 days at that job since that phone call.

My collective taxable income for 2015 totals up to just $4,684. 98. Nope, not missing any digits there!

I have a small disability from an injury obtained while in the Navy, which took care of my car loan payments up until december, when the lack of work put me even further into the uncomfortable circle of "food or bills?" Friends that know me, know that I've been struggling with both for a long while now, so I opted for food, while selling off personal belongings here and there for supplemental income. On 18 February, I woke up to find that my truck had been repossessed. The bank requires the entirety of the loan be paid back ($14k) in order to get it back, which i sure don't have, and my credit is too far in the dirt ot qualify for any loans for a used car from a dealership. That, and also, the last thing I want right now is further debt with an already heavy financial load.

I am asking for donations so that I can obtain another car and also for lodging. I have to vacate my current residence by the 15th and have nowhere else to go. I have no family in the area, and the friends I have either have families, can't  help, and frankly, some just won't. I don't judge any of them for their reasonings because I know that we all have individual problems and limited budgets. I have spotted a few used vehicles on Craigslist within a 3k limit that I like and would like to raise money for that. The remaining $1470 would be for a month's stay at a hotel while I gather time to find suitable living arrangements. Anything spared is entirely appreciated. I do not anticipate this struggle lasting forever; I search for work locally and distant daily and I believe that I will find a job that affords me a more comfortable life. It's hard, but I refuse to let my struggle break me. It would mean a lot to me to gather help to lift me off of my feet and be able to get another car soon.
