Hi guys,
First and foremost to everyone who has loved and supported Egg and Cheese these past 3 years, thank you. You have no idea how much your love and support has meant to me and to the growth of this business. It is because of all of you that it has been able to make it this far.
For those of you who are interested in a little back story...I opened Egg and Cheese in 2021, literally 5 seconds after the pandemic restrictions were lifted. No. I didn't have any kitchen experience. I had never cooked for anyone before, to be honest I barely even cooked for myself. I don't even know if I liked cooking? I had never dreamed of being a restaurant owner. I had no idea how to run a business. I knew nothing. I just saw an opportunity and I went for it.
During the pandemic I found myself making a breakfast sandwich every morning after my workout. This one particular day I was feeling kind of lazy and thought, "Damn, let me go get a sandwich from somewhere else." It wasn't until then that I realized, besides a sit-down dine-in style restaurant or a lousy fast food chain, there were surprisingly no food establishments around me that offered a quick, fresh egg sandwich.
It was that day that I sat down and jokingly sketched out a plan for what I thought would be a cool egg sandwich shop. I scratched a little Egg logo on a piece of paper with a pencil and jotted down some very basic notes. One being "Name: Egg and Cheese" and in parenthesis (kinda stupid...) From that day forward, I took small steps each and every day towards making that piece of paper a reality.
In May of 2021, with just $66 in my bank account, Egg and Cheese was officially opened, just 4 short months after that one little idea. The rest is history.
It has since been 3 years since opening our first location and we are extremely thrilled to announce that we will be opening a 2nd location in Willimantic. I've been able to raise some money through a grant program and my own savings but unfortunately, I still need a little bit more.
Contrary to belief, it is extremely hard to be accepted for loans, to obtain high limit credit cards or to get investors to invest in you when you have very little financial history. As I continue to seek further funding, I reach out to you, the people I know love me most and the people I rely on day in and day out. I'm seeking $5,000 that I will use towards all the licenses and permits required for opening the second location.
I promise you that with your help, I will continue to grow and expand the business. The finish line for Egg and Cheese is no where in sight and I know that together, we can turn it into an empire.
If any of you are willing to or able to help at all, just know that I will forever be grateful.
I love you all!
