Jason Shuler has been a software engineer for over 20 years, and is one of the most intelligent and hard working people we know.  He is disabled, and lost his job due to his disability, and has been struggling to get onto disability because of government rules regarding assets and former pay limits.  Jason is also the primary developer for GM vehicles for a self driving technology called Open Pilot which is an open source platform developed by comma.ai and the many developers in the self driving community.

Jason needs our help, we need to raise money for him personally, and to help him continue development of self driving car technologies.  We are seeking to get him a comma 3 device which costs $2150 + development harness $200 ($2350) and he needs a new laptop capable of troubleshooting and development for software $2500.

Jason Shuler is the primary and most knowledgeable software engineer working on the Comma.AI Open Pilot software package which enables autonomous level 2 self driving capabilities on modern vehicles with adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist. Jason primarily works on the General Motors brand of vehicles, and is responsible for porting the Volt, Bolt, Suburban, Tahoe, Escalade ESV, Acadia, and Silverado.

 

Jason has the original comma hardware EON Gold, and the previous generation hardware Comma 2, but he really needs the latest hardware the Comma 3 to continue to improve the software and expand the supported vehicles.
