GLW 150 Years

GLW Feeds Limited is a livestock feeds manufacturer based in the heart of the country and originally established in 1873. This year we are celebrating our 150th year in business. To celebrate this milestone the company is raising money for 3 worthy charities close to our hearts. The Air Ambulance, R.A.B.I and St Dorcas Children’s Educational center.

The Air Ambulance is an incredible service which offers rapid medical urgent transport for those critically injured. They cover over 21 counties and have been out on over 3000 calls in 2022 alone. Over the past 20 years, The Air Ambulance Service has attended over 47,000 missions. When someone is fighting for their life, they need expert medical treatment fast the Air Ambulance is there to provide this. They take no government funding so they rely on donations to fund their vital work and the primary reason we have chosen to support them this year.

The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution – RABI – is an award-winning national charity providing local support to the farming community across England and Wales. Established in 1860, they have been offering free guidance, financial support and practical care to farming people of all ages for generations. Confidential support is available to those who currently work within agriculture and also to those who are no longer able to work in the sector due to ill-health, accident or age.

The St Dorcas Children’s Centre, based in Kenya is an orphanage and a school for children. Donations are needed to provide the financial support required to help this orphanage become self-sufficient and sustainable. The centre is dedicated to making a real difference within the community by focussing on educating orphaned children and breaking the cycle of poverty.

So far (since December 2012) with the support of donors they have provided the shelter with; a goat, tools for cultivating the land, crafts for learning and creating goods to sell at the markets, shoes for all 74 children, food and kitchen utensils for cooking. The next step is to dig a 274 meter deep well to provide clean accessible water for showering, drinking and cooking for the children who live there. At present these children only have 250ml of water to wash themselves with a day. They have one water delivery a week which they must ration in temperatures over 30 degrees between them all.

GLW Feeds are very passionate about supporting these very worthy causes. We will be fundraising throughout the year with various events. We really urge you to donate whatever you can. All three of these causes work tirelessly to continue delivering much needed help where they can and with your generous donations, they will continue to able to help those who are most vulnerable.
