Hi my name is Sheona I am registered blind. When I was younger I enjoyed all sorts of sports I was even selected for team GB for the paralympics when I was 17 years old for my athletics , unfortunately due to getting a knee injury I had to pull out. This crush me and apart from a small amount of football I gave up sports, I got married and had children we lived in a village but had to move to Gloucestershire near my husbands family. With in the first year I heard about a visually impaired cricket team starting up and I joined.
the team was called Gloucestershire Growlers it’s now been going since 2012/2013. Since joining I have mentioned lots of different people with a variety of backgrounds and visual impairments. We have travel to play teams all over the midlands and south west as far as Dorset.
as you can imagine this costs a lot of money with transport and kit and competition fees. We are trying to raise money to help through this season and our winter training we don’t have a coach to train us so we have been working together. Any money raise would help us also help other visually impaired people young and older get out and meet other be more independent and most importantly have fun so please if your able to spare a few pound or even just share this it would help. We are also organising a sponsored walk from Bristol to bath on August 17th 2025 just your support would mean the world. Thank you
