Please help to cover the funeral arrangements for Glorietta Reyes, a loving mother and devoted wife, who spent her entire life putting the needs of others before her own. Glorietta was the rock of her family, putting relatives through college and supporting countless people both in the Philippines and in the United States whenever possible.
Selfless to her core, Glorietta worked tirelessly her entire life to help give a better life for her family and others. She worked the night shift for decades in the maternity ward of Duke Hospital, helping thousands of babies and new mothers. She had just retired after years of hard shift work when she received a diagnosis of leukemia. She fought hard and far outlived her doctors' initial expectations, and had hoped to be able to spend the last part of her life in a new retirement home in her native city of San Fernando City in the Philippines, which she and her husband Robert had spent eight years planning and building. She had just returned from blessing her new retirement home when she tragically passed away after a sudden decline in her health upon returning to Durham. She will be sorely missed by her immediate family, her husband Robert and her only son Mark, as well as several siblings and a large extended family. Her husband's wishes are to take her back to the Philippines for a funeral service and burial at home. Costs for transporting her overseas are expensive, but the family will need help with covering funeral costs regardless.
Any help you can provide to give this lovely, self-sacrificing, hard-working and generous woman the dignified burial she deserves will be forever appreciated by her friends and family. Thank you.
