Hi, I am Gloria's friend. Gloria has spent the last several months quietly fighting a battle with cancer that many knew nothing about. Sadly, she did not win this battle.

During her treatment, Gloria flew back and forth from Chicago to Houston regularly, often many times a month. Hoping that the medical staff at MD Anderson would be able to cure her. She did this at her own expense but was filled with great hope that she would live to see her 52nd birthday and more.

If you knew Gloria, you knew her babies (Byron and Brandun) were the world to her. Flying back and forth to California, Phoenix and Houston, wherever her babies were, she was there. She didn't let on to them how sick she was - even carrying a couch up three flights of stairs with Byron just in May of this year. She was committed to getting better and often talked with me about how she wanted to move closer to them.

In early July, Gloria went to the ER not feeling well and quickly declined from there. She could no longer stay in her son's third-floor apartment and moved into a hotel in Houston, still filled with promise that her medical team here could help her get better. Her son, Byron, steady at her side taking amazing care of her, took her to the ER for the last time in Mid-August. Gloria was admitted and the unthinkable outcome became a reality.

This GFM is to help her sons with the numerous expenses that came over the last several months and lay their mother to rest.
