Gloria's fight to live continues after remission (Cancer)

  • Hello, We are Rebecca and David, Our daughters name is Gloria who just turned 18 May of 2023 and graduated High School. She has just started to live her life and already has to begin fighting for her life. A few weeks ago she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma. She was finally sent for an MRI October 2023 after being diagnosed and receiving physical thereapy in 2022 with TOS (Thoracic Outlet Syndrome) which most likely due to her sports injuries from playing Volleyball. The MRI showed enlaged lymphnodes and needed immediate attention.(blessing in disguised as we would have never know and would have been too late) From there its been CT scans, PET scans, 1 needle biopsy and two biopsy Surgeries. Before we knew how her life was going to change, she got a loan to purchase a car. We are told from her doctor that she will be unable to work for about a year. Here we are asking for help for our daughter so that she can focus on her recovery and not have to worry about her car note. She is a very strong independent young lady with a huge heart. She quickly became a lead manager at a restaurant in downtown Chattanooga. She was a girl scout from age 5 to age 13, where she sold Girl Scout cookies, she worked consessions at the ballfields and always working. No matter what job she had before graduating she put her heart and soul and enjoyed making her money. She played Volleyball in school from 6th grade through Senior year 2023, she also became team manager for the boys High School basketball team, which she loved. As parents it is heartbreaking knowing the fight she has ahead of her. Just with her knowing she is now going to have to depend on us and many others for when she is sick from a very aggressive treatment. She was also looking for an apartment to further her independence which is no longer possible knowing what she will be going through. So, her dad and I are putting our pride aside in asking for help to take the burden off of her in not having to worry about loosing her car. We have her car insurance and what ever medical bills will accrue. We know she will beat this cancer with prayers, physical, emotional and mental support from family, friends, school teachers and coaches (who are like family to her) whom she sees often as she still continues to help at games when needed. She is strong but it has been constant appointments from having a port placed to fertility appointments as she will need to freeze her eggs as she will most certainly become sterile. March 18, 2023 is her 1st Chemotherapy treatment which will be 4 chemo medications all at once, due to already being at stage 4. So any support to help her ease her thoughts emotionally and mentally of her financial burden would be appreciated from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you and God bless! Gloria's parents, Rebecca and David.
