Gloria Govrin's 75th Birthday!
Donation protected
Hi Everyone, I'm Olivia - Gloria Govrin's human daughter. My mom has a big birthday coming up this November. She will be turning 75! For this milestone occasion I'd like to plan something big, but I can't do it alone.
And before I go on, this is a SURPRISE! So please don't share this with Gloria or block her from any facebook posts about it.
Most of you know my mom as a dancer, or a teacher. If you're friends with her on facebook you also know her as a proud puppy mommy and political status maker. Much like her dancing years ago, she is strong, proud, and truly one of a kind. She has devoted her life to Ballet and her work. She has many life and work experiences that most people could only dream of, but now she lives her life very modestly. She never goes on vacations, and rarely treats herself. For her 75th Birthday, I'd like to do both of those things.
Something you might not know about my mom is that she loves giraffes. Perhaps she feels a kinship to them because of their tall stature, and gentle nature. Ever since I was little, they were always her favorite. A few years ago, she learned about a place in Nairobi called "Giraffe Manor" - a full service estate that is also a giraffe sanctuary. Since this discovery, it's been her wildest dream to go here. I've worked with a Safari specialist to design a 6-night trip that includes a Safari at the Masai Mara, and a 2-night stay at Giraffe Manor.
Here is a link to more information:

&Beyond Kichwa Tembo Masai Mara Safari:

For two people (because I know she won't go by herself) the total cost would be $7,136 for two. Transportation will probably be about $1600-&1700. This is WAY above my financial abilities. But I figure if every one of her former students/colleagues and friends contributed $25 we'd be able to cover it.
Gloria has truly devoted her life to her craft and has touched so many lives along the way. She's been through her ups and downs, and though it sometimes seemed as though the waters were too deep, she has always managed to swim her way back to the surface. She will never know retirement, and her work will always be the love of her life. Please help me send her on a giant adventure for her 75th birthday.
