Hello!
My name is Angelina and I have been accepted to HU Berlin for the Global Studies Program! I’ll be earning my Master’s Degree and conducting research into the Coptic Orthodox diaspora with a focus on transnational identity, minority politics, and refugee status. My goal is for my research to be used to help advocate for Copts in the diasporic community all around the world. I need your help to fund travel and living expenses while I am abroad!
Here is the breakdown so you know where your money is going:
1) Tuition - 300 euro for the first semester
2) Living expenses per month for 3 months
- 800 euro for a room in a housing unit
- 2-300 euro for food
- 50-75 euro for public transit pass
- ~1-200 euro for health insurance as required to attend the university
3) Travel expenses
- ~$900 for a one way ticket for myself including checked luggage
4) Extra funds for including but not limited to: application for a residency permit on arrival, help with pet funding, deposit on housing unit, emergency funds in case of need for immediate return to United States
I intend to use these funds for the first 3-4 months of my schooling in Berlin, where I then can apply for a scholarship that will be disbursed in June/July from a private program I am applying for in May.
