Help Roaring Forty win 2025 Melbourne to Osaka Yacht Race!
Donation protected
G'day crew,
My name is Kev Le Poidevin, a retired Australian Air Force Officer and keen offshore solo sailor. Circumnavigating our beautiful planet by sailboat has been my lifelong goal.
I sail to support my two charities; Brain Tumour Alliance Australia and Soldier On.
My actions will hopefully translate into raising awareness and funds via direct links to each charitable organisation.
This GoFundMe page has been established for those of you who have asked me how you can personally help my Aviator Ocean Racing campaign compete in Offshore and Ocean Races in either single-handed or shorthanded configuration. I recently competed in the Global Solo Challenge (GSC), but unfortunately retired after sailing 13000nm from Spain to Hobart single-handed, non-stop and unassisted. Unable to round Cape Horn within the time limit after a late start, I retired in Hobart. All up I sailed about 18000nm single-handed.
So our next goal is to win the 2025 Osaka Cup.
I will be joined by SGT Darrell Greig as Co-Skipper for the warm-up event - the 2024 Rolex Sydney Hobart Race that is also the qualifier for the Melbourne to Osaka Yacht Race starting in Mar 2025.
So how can you help me?
Entry fees and food are always big ticket items, whilst new downwind sails and furling gear are always welcome additions to make our life up at the 'pointy end' safer.
You can also:
1. Help me promote my charities to raise public awareness by sharing.
2. Help me to attract corporate sponsorship that will offset personal financial burden and improve your interactive experience as you follow along on our adventure.
3. Allow me to take you along on our adventure through social media.
Any financial, product or service donation is gratefully appreciated.
Safety is critical, and redundancy and fun are essential!
Please note, this page IS NOT for donations to my charities. Follow the links in my Facebook page to direct deposit your donation.
