Economic Crisis - COVID Pandemic - Poverty - No Healthcare

We usually carry some money when we run, to give to the Venezuelan refugees. They were walking from Venezuela, through Colombia and some of them on to Ecuador to Peru. Many are now returning to Venezuela as there is no longer any work available due to the coronavirus. Pushing their worldly belongings on makeshift carts and donated pushchairs. Mostly whilst wearing Crocs; some with no shoes on at all on a journey that can take many months and can stretch over 4,000kms.

They are incredibly friendly, upbeat and grateful. They hardly ever ask for anything or beg. They just try and make their way to wherever they may have heard some work is available.  If you want to find out more about the Venezuelan Crisis, you can read about it here:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crisis_in_Venezuela

We are starting a GoFundMe to help distribute some small amounts for each family or group we see. If you are keen to help and want to see a little of your hard-earned cash get directly into the hands of these families.

We hope to interview some and be able to tell you who your money is actually going to. Who they are, their name, where they live and where they have come from and are going to.

Real people receiving your donation straight to their hands.

Thanks for considering.
